Key Responsibilities:
- IEP Services: Provide direct social work services as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to support students with special needs.
- Social/Emotional Skill Development: Develop and implement strategies and programs to enhance students' social and emotional skills, promoting positive behavior and academic success.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' needs and ensure a cohesive approach to their overall well-being.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond to and manage crises effectively, providing support and resources to students and families as needed.
- Assessment and Documentation: Conduct assessments, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports related to student progress and needs.
Qualifications:
- Education: Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Licensed Social Worker with the Minnesota Department of Education (MN DOE) certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in a school setting is preferred but not required. Experience in providing direct social work services and teaching social/emotional skills is highly valued.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively within a school team, and a genuine commitment to student success and well-being.
